Nowadays, we’re more wasteful than ever-buying, using and throwing things away without thinking about the costs．We need to start living more responsibly- but how? One answer is to upcycle (再生利用) ．
If you’re like me, you might already make soil for gardening from food waste and use empty paper boxes as storage space．Did you know you can apply (应用) the same way to old clothing? You just need imagination!

Lighting is one of the most beautiful natural phenomena（现象）．It is also one of the most deadly phenomena．A bolt of lightning is six times hotter than the surface（表面）of the Sun and gives out 30,000 amps of electricity（电）．It can travel at 100, 000 kilometres per hour and has the ability to hit a target up to 40 kilometres away．About 1, 000 people around the world are killed by lightning every day.

The most important rule is to stay inside, but do not go near phones, electrical appliances, plumbing, or water．If you are stuck outside, do not take shelter under a tree．Instead, roll yourself up into a ball on the ground as small as possible．And do not think it has to be raining in order for lightning to strike.
Strangely, lightning seems to prefer some people to others．If you are a man, you are six times more likely to be struck by lightning than a woman!

The Nobel Prizes in science have been dominated (占主要地位) by men in previous years．But this year, women stole the spotlight（聚光灯,公众的注意）!

According to Daily Mail, people spend 8 hours and 41 minutes on electronic devices(电子设备）on average every day．There is no doubt that people are getting more dependent on technology as time goes by．The only question is: are you too distracted by it?
