Have you ever heard of “humblebragging(谦虚自夸“凡尔赛”)”? We use it to describe someone who seems to make a modest(谦虚的) statement, but is actually trying to bring attention to something they are     11    . For example, someone might say.“I just found out that I got     12     to Harvard AND Oxford. Maybe they got my application mixed up with someone else’s!” They want to tell others that they’ve been accepted to two good schools.     13     they don’t want to seem arrogant(自大的). So instead, they word it in a(an)     14     that seems more modest.

Although people who humblebrag think it will make them seem easier to get on with, a 2015 study published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology showed that humblebragging has the     15     effect.

“Humblebragging backfires(产生事与愿违的结果) because it doesn’t seem very real. That ‘sadness is me attitude connected with self-promotion(自抬身价)’ does not lead to a good     16    ,” said Ovul Sezer, lead author of the study. “Even     17     bragging or complaining is better, because at least those messages are seen as more sincere(真诚的).”

Humblebragging is common and we all do it in a way Alibaba founder Jack Ma once said that his biggest mistake was     18     the company. “I never thought this thing would change my life. I was just trying to run a     19     business, and it grew so big!” he said.

Sezer said the best way to share your achievements is to “admit     20     self-promotion and win the rewards being sincere”. In this way, people will see that you aren’t just showing off and are simply being honest.

Everybody may get unhappy. That’s     111     people eat a lot of junk food or spend lots of money on clothes. They think that these things will make them     112     happy ! In fact, it is easy to get happiness, if you just learn to be a giver.

First of all, giving money and food to the     113     people is a good thing to do. It may bring more happiness than     114     else. Think about this, a boy has nothing, and you give him some food or just a candy, then you’ll     115     a big smile on his face. Also, you can volunteer(志愿参加)for a rescue service. If you give your hand to those people in need, you will feel happy after you help     116    . Maybe you’ll find this is the happiest moment of your life. Finally, spending time with your family is also necessary though you are     117     busy that you don’t have enough time to meet them very week.
