How can we relax after busy workdays?

Walking through the city streets at weekends is now a new favourite among young people in China. It is called Citywalk. People can take a Citywalk on their own or by following a tour guide. They usually don’t go to famous shopping centres. Instead, they go to small shops or restaurants, take a close look at old buildings and know about the history and culture of the city.

Many Citywalkers love to share their routes (路线) with others, including how long the walk will take and what beautiful places they will see along the way. It is helpful to others who also want to take a Citywalk.

Nan Xi, a girl from Beijing, moved to Shanghai not long ago. One day, when she went online (在线) to find something interesting to do on weekends, she got to know about Citywalk. “I think Shanghai is a wonderful city to take a Citywalk. There are big trees along the streets and shops selling different things. It’s great for friends to walk together and take photos,” she said. She decided to have a try. She had a two-hour Citywalk tour. During the tour, the guide talked about the history of the buildings and streets along the way. “I enjoyed the trip that day. It gave me a better understanding of how Western and local cultures mix together in Shanghai. I can’t wait to take another Citywalk,” she said.

Take a Citywalk at weekends! Enjoy the beauty of your city in a new way!

Although we often hear about driverless cars, it is still not clear when we will be able to buy one to make those long boring road trips a lot easier. Let’s take a look at why.

What driverless technology is in use now?

The idea of a driverless car dates back to 1939! However, we are not sure what driverless technology can and can’t do. When most people think of driverless cars, they think of sitting back in their car and reading a book while the car does all the work and gets them to where they want to go. In fact, that kind of technology is many years away. At the moment, our car can help control the direction, but our attention must still be on the road. Before smarter technology becomes popular, people will need to deal with a lot of problems, such as getting the car to understand the road signs and allowing cars to “connect” to one another. In this way, all cars can be aware of what is happening around them.

What problems are driverless cars facing?

There are a few reasons why driverless cars may take some time to come to fruition.

Although AI and driverless skills have developed for a long time, AI still isn’t as smart as a human brain when something happens suddenly. Driverless technology needs to be able to deal with some accidents before it can become truly popular.

Online attack is also a kind of danger. Hackers(黑客)could get into your car and take control of your car, using their skills to either steal your car or even hurt you. Our technology must be safe before we give too much trust in driverless cars.

Driverless cars could actually make the air pollution worse. If people are able to sleep or work in their cars, there will be even less reason to get public transport(公共交通). Unless driverless cars are all powered by clean energy, the planet won’t be better with more driverless cars.

22.About driverless cars, the writer agrees that ________.

A.we can buy some in the near future.

B.they were first invented in the 21st century.

C.hackers will surely operate our cars through the Internet.

D.the drivers still have to pay their attention on the road for now.

23.The following phrase “________” has the same meaning as the underlined phrase “come to fruition” in Paragraph 3.

A.come into use   B.run free                  C.set off                    D.take place

24.According to the passage, driverless cars are facing the problems EXCEPT ________.

A.air pollution     B.high price               C.online attacks          D.AI technology

25.How does the writer organize the article?

We sometimes call the lion “the king of the jungle (丛林)”, because it is stronger and more dangerous than other animals.     26     It is the highest animal in the land food chain (链).

In the sea animals, the shark is one of the animals at the top of the food chain. It can swim faster than most other sea animals.     27

What is at the top of the world’s food chain? People are!     28     We could not run faster than cheetahs (猎豹), but we invented cars and now we can move the fastest. We could not fight better than lions, but we invented guns. Now we can hunt the best.

People’s inventions are clever, but they can be dangerous, too. For example, people invented lactones (内酯), and now they make the air and rivers dirty.     29     Dirty rivers kill fish. The bears cannot eat the fish and they die. If we kill one part of the food chain, other arts also die.

Remember that we are also a part of the food chain, so we are in danger, too!     30     We should and we could do something for the world!

A.This can make terrible changes.
