When Ariel rode her bike to the riverside, she saw a beautiful swan lying near the riverside. Ariel worked at the Wild Bird Fund rehab centre(康复中心)and knew that swans could be aggressive. So she should be careful to prevent herself from being hurt. But as she went near this one, she found that it was badly hurt. “I should help it, or it will die.” she thought.
Ariel put her jacket over the bird’s hand to keep it calm first. She picked it up softly, and held it in her arms. And then she thought, “What should I do now? ” Her best choice was to take the swan to the rehab centre, but that was across the river and on the other side of the city. How was she going to take a 17-pound swan on her bike all that way?
Luckily, when some drivers saw her, they were willing to offer her, her bike and the swan a ride to a nearby underground station. Ariel called the rehab centre on the way, and then an animal-care manager picked her up at another underground station. When they got to the centre, the manager checked and treated(治疗)the swan. They took good care of the swan.

China successfully sent up 22 new satellites in one go on Sunday morning. This really set a new national record.
A Long March-8 carrier rocket blasted off together with the 22 small satellites at 11:06 a.m., and after flying for more than 15 minutes, they all ran into their designed orbit.
The satellites were built by seven institutes and companies; each of them has their own tasks including collecting commercial remote-sensing data, environmental research, forest fire prevention and disaster reduction.
“You can call it a ‘shared rocket’ if you want,” said Xiao Yun, the commander of the satellite sending. “We prepare one or two types of rockets every year for that. If there are many satellites to send up, we use a big rocket. If only a few to send up, we have smaller rockets.”
Today’s launch marks the 409th mission of China’s Long March rocket series.
This is the second launch of the Long March-8 rocket, and it was designed by the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALT) aiming at commercial launches. The first mission was finished in late 2020.
It’s clearly noticeable in the video that the two boosters cannot be found in the new rocket. It tells that the design is one step closer to making the first stages reusable like Space X’s Falcon 9.
Reusable design can save launch costs and help achieve better commercial success.
“The Long March-8 can carry 3 tonnes of satellites and send them up to low Earth orbit (LEO) or medium Earth orbit,” said Wu Yitian, chief designer of the rocket. “Such rockets are greatly needed by the market, especially to launch Earth observation satellites.”
A China Media Group report said the Long March-8 will hopefully become the main type for future LEO missions.

56.What is the Long March-8’s future plan?

Taking a bus or underground or paying on the Internet—these activities can help turn China’s deserts into forests if you are using Ant Forest.
Ant Forest is a part in the Alipay mobile payment app. It records users’ low-carbon(低碳的) activities—taking a bus or walking to work, for example, and gives users “green energy”. When the user’s green energy gets high enough, Ant Forest and its partners will plant a real tree for the user.

About half a billion(十亿) people have used Ant Forest since it came out in August 2016. Ant Forest and its partners have planted over 122 million trees in China’s driest areas, including parts of Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Qinghai and Shanxi. The trees cover a total area of 112,000 hectares. This makes Ant Forest China’s largest treeplanting roject started by a private company.

There are many kinds of amazing animals in the world. Have you ever watched one of them Canada geese(雁)? They can teach us a lesson about teamwork.
In autumn, Canada geese have to fly to the warm south to get away from Canada’s cold winter. When they leave the ground and rise into the air, they fly in no order. Then they quickly form a V shape, with one bird leading the group.
The V shape allows Canada geese to save energy(精力). The head bird moves its wings(翅膀) up and down. The resulting force of the air helps lift the next bird. Each bird will do so until they get to the southern part. The bird at the head of the group has the hardest job. When it gets tired, another bird moves to the front and takes its place(代替它). By sharing this job, the group can travel great distances.
Canada geese flying in a V shape can fly seventy percent farther without having a rest than the birds flying alone.
During the long flying journey, Canada geese communicate with one another. They honk(鸣叫) to encourage the birds up front to keep up the speed. They also cheer one another up while working toward the same destination(目的地).
What have we learned from the lovely Canada geese’s experience and skills? Work together! Whether in our personal lives or our jobs, we need the spirit of teamwork!
71.Why do Canada geese fly to the warm south in autumn?
72.Do they form a V shape to save energy when they fly?
