Have you ever tried hiking? I had my first hiking experience on Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (玉龙雪山) with my friend when I went to Yunnan.
This was the first time I had traveled so far without my parents. I was very excited and discussed the plan with my friend almost every week. But, not everything went according to the plan. When we arrived at Lijiang, the weather was not good. It was a cloudy day and we could hardly see the mountain. My friend and I decided to book a tour called Hiking to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.
The next morning, we arrived at the starting point and waited for our guide and driver. We passed a lake on our way to the mountain. It was hard to believe that the temperature could change so fast. When we were in the car, we just wore shirts. However, when we walked to the lakeside, I felt a cold wind blow. The lake was beautiful. There were lots of wild animals there.
At the foot of the mountain, we could only see mountains, soil and the sky at a glance. When we arrived at an altitude (海拔) of about 3800 metres, I started to feel a bit sick. This made it hard to enjoy the view. The guide gave me some advice. He said, “Watch your step instead of thinking about how many steps you have to take.” It was not easy, but the experience was unforgettable. It was nice to see the valley (山谷) from up above when we finished the hike.
In 10 days, we climbed the mountain, visited lots of ancient towns and traveled to Xishuangbanna. It’s hard to say which part was the best. Things like this make it so fun to travel.
34.What did the writer and his friend decide to do when they arrived in Lijiang?

Volunteers are often overlooked(忽视) by people. But no activities can carry on smoothly without hard-working volunteers. Last month, I volunteered at the Color Run in Melbourne, Australia. Although I didn’t have so much fun as the runners, I still learned a valuable lesson.
My job was to give a high five(击掌) to every runner at the finish line. At the beginning, I saw it as a simple task. When the first runner passed, I reached out my hands and shouted “Good job!” excitedly. However, as more and more people crossed the finish line and clapped their hands with mine, my arms got sore. What’s worse, it became hotter. My clothes were wet because of the sweat(汗水), and I felt really tired. But soon I saw a group of children running towards me. They were about 6 years old. Although they hardly caught their breath, they still kept going with big smiles on their faces. They put up their hands and said loudly, “High five!”
At that moment, I was quite touched. They were so young, and they refused to give up. Suddenly, I felt myself full of strength(力量). I clapped their hands, “Well done, little guys!”
That is the meaning of being a volunteer. It is never an easy job. However, we meet different people and see the spirit that touches us. Although such spirit is not often found in daily life, it can help us learn a lot when we see it by accident.
38.Where did the Color Run take place last month?
A.In Canada. B.In America. C.In Australia. D.In Britain.
39.What was the writer’s job at the Color Run?

41.The writer was touched because ________.
A.she saw so many people cross the finish line

D.all the runners gave her a high five

Imagine that a girl sits down for a test in a future classroom. Her exam paper is made by an artificial intelligence(AI)(人工智能) model based on her own laming. When she finishes her paper, she hands her paper to her teacher, who uses another AI model to grade the paper. Based on the result, a new learning plan is made for the student according to her strengths(优势) and weaknesses. This is personalized(个性化的) education at its best.
Could this be the future of AI in education? It is certainly possible. With the development of high technology, the dream about the AI classroom will come true even faster than we expected.
However, it also puts a question: How can AI help students improve their schoolwork?
AI can use past information to make personalized learning plans according to students’ performances. The plans allow students to learn at their own speed and in their own way. AI can easily catch expressions(表情) on students’ faces. When students get into trouble, AI models can make a mark. Even before they start to show signs of trouble, AI models can make correct predictions(预测). At the same time, AI models can provide ways of dealing with problems and improving learning plans quickly.
What’s more, AI can provide the special program for those who have problems in learning. One example of a company developing AI to improve the learning experience is Nuance. It offered Dragon Speech Recognition technology. With the support of voice recognition(识别), AI allows students to complete tasks only by speaking. This offers a chance to those who have problems in writing. AI will become more and more important in education. In the near future, we will see an AI classroom. It can not only provide personalized learning plans but also use technology to predict results. Education will be personalized to a student’s strengths, bringing a more enjoyable learning experience for all students.
42.What is the purpose of Paragraph 1?
A.To make students more worried about tests. B.To explain why learning plans are necessary.
C.To introduce personalized education to readers. D.To show students how meaningful the AI model is.
43.From Paragraph 4, we can learn AI models can ________.
A.make good use of learning plans B.describe different kinds of expressions
C.mark and predict trouble by expressions D.keep students away from the possible problems
44.What is the example of Nuance used to show?
A.AI can improve students’ writing skills. B.AI can offer the service to special students.
C.Students can easily complete tasks with AI. D.Voice recognition makes a difference to education.
45.What can be inferred(推断) from the passage?
A.AI will work instead of teachers in the future. B.It will take a long time to build AI classrooms.
C.AI will be widely used soon in top universities.D.Students will have a better learning experience with AI.

六、阅读与回答问题(本题共5小题;每小题2分, 满分10分)
请认真阅读下面短文, 并根据短文内容回答问题。
In the eyes of many foreigners, the Chinese are the best hosts and the worst guests in the world. And Western hosts sometimes look rude in the eyes of Chinese guests. It is because the guest-host relationship(关系)in China is quite different from that in some western countries.
In China, guests are almost like gods. Whenever I enter a Chinese friend’s home, there is always fruit on the table for me, and someone is quick to bring me a cup of tea or water. In the west, generally the guest is not a god. Acting according to(根据)the host’s way of doing things is usual behaviour for a guest.
My wife’s mother, a very kind Chinese lady, doesn’t smoke. When I see some of her guests smoking in her house, as a non-smoker I feel unhappy. Usually I want to stop them directly, but I must realize that in China, to be a good host, she must not do that.
In most North American homes, if you are a guest, and the hosts are not smokers, you should not smoke in their houses. At the very least, you should ask “Is it OK if I smoke?” But don’t be surprised if they say, “No, you can’t smoke.” In my culture, if you smoke in their houses, you are a bad guest, but if they don’t allow you to smoke in their houses, they are not rude hosts.
In a word, no matter where you are, the best way to be a good guest is to adapt to(适应)the local customs. Just as the saying goes, “When in Rome, do as the Romans do.”
71.To many foreigners, who are the best hosts and the worst guests in the world?
72.What is usual behaviour for a guest in the west?
73.How does the writer feel when he sees some guests smoking in his wife’s mother’s home?
74.If a guest wants to smoke in an American host’s home, what question should he ask?
75.What do you think is impolite for a guest to do? (请自拟一句话作答)

参考答案
1.B
【详解】句意:蒋先生作为一个老人,参加老年人特殊奥运会,并且在比赛中获得亚军。
考查冠词的用法。根据“took part in the Special Games for...elderly, and finished...second in the race.”
根据“Could you please tell me something about it?”和答语“Sorry, I know just a little.”可知,此处说的是想了解瘦西湖的事情,下文说不知道,说可以在网站上阅读介绍。故选B。
