Before, pockets on our clothes were just to keep things inside. But now pockets are one of this year’s fashion trends (流行趋势).
Why are pockets this year’s fashion trend?
People usually don’t need bags to take many things, like diaries and maps with them. They don’t use any money now. People only need phones, and maybe a key. Pockets are enough to carry them.
More than practical (实用)
Pockets also get us to look at the rights (权利) of men and women. Hundreds of years ago, men enjoyed sewn-in (缝在里面的) pockets in their clothes. But women could only wear tied-on (系上去的) pockets on the outside. There were no tied-on pockets later. But it still made some people feel that pockets were something special for men.
Fashionable accessories (饰品)
Even if you don’t use pockets to carry things, pockets can make us feel fashionable. Deccan Herald newspaper said pockets now have all kinds of sizes. Designers also put many beautiful or special pictures on pockets.
Men get better pockets
Pockets in women’s jeans are usually 48% less deep, and 6.5% slimmer than men’s jeans pockets. Only 40% of women’s front pockets can keep a smartphone, and no more than half can keep a wallet.
