三、重点语法

if 的用法：

（1）表“如果” 主句用的时态是将来时，那么 if 引导的从句时态是一般现在时。

If I am free tomorrow , I will go hikingwith you .

如果明天我有空，我会和你们一起去。

（2）表“是否”，用于宾语从句中，连接的从句用陈述语序。（该用什么时态就用什么时态）

He asked us if English is our major subject.

他问我们英语是不是我们的主要课

Nobody knows if it will rain .

没有人知道明天是否下雨

if 与 whether 都是连词， 表“是否”，但下面几种情况不能用 if , 只能用 whether

1、在动词不定式之前

I can’t decide whether to go abroad forfurther study .

我不能决定是否去外国深造

2、后面有 or not

The police didn’t confirm whether or notthe man with blood on his shirt was the murderer .

警放不能断定那个衬衫上有血的男子是不是凶手

3、前面有介词

They are talking about whether they willtake part in the game show .

他们正在讨论是否参加竞赛节目

4、宾语从句放在句首表强调

Whether they keep trying has not beendecide .

他们是否坚持尝试还没决定

Unless表“除非…”“如果不…”引导条件从句

You will fall behind others unless youwork hark .

除非你努力学习，否则你将落后别人

unless 在意义相当于 if…not , 可以进行替换。但是在否定条件句中， if…not 就不能替代 unless

Don’t ask me to explain unless you really don’ t understand

除非你真不懂，不然别让我解释
