in+年/月/季节/上午/下午/晚上，in接较泛的时间

on+具体某一天，on接具体时间

China’s National Day is on the first of October. 中国的国庆节在十月一日。

Mother’s Day is on the second day of May. 母亲节在五月的第二个星期天。

二、节日前加定冠词与不加定冠词的情况

①在由festival构成的我国传统节日名称前用the

1. festival 节日

<常用词组> celebrate a festival 庆祝节日 enjoy a festival欢庆节日

festival的意思是“节日”，

①多指民俗或宗教节日，用作专有名词时，前面可加上the

②festival有时候还可以指音乐、戏剧、电影等汇演性的节日

art festival, drama festival, film festival等。

[辨析]day，festival和holiday

（1）这三个单词都可以用来表达“节日”，

① 为特定人群设定的节日用Day，有着纪念的感情色彩，如：

Father’s Day 父亲节 Mother’s Day 母亲节 Children’s Day 儿重节

Teachers’ Day 教师节 Women’s Day 妇女节 Nurse’s Day 护士节

②不用上班(上学)的日子，我们要用holiday，如：

summer holiday 暑假 winter holiday 寒假 National Day holiday 国庆节假日

③festival更强调具有传统意义的节日，在这些节日里，人们会举行庆祝活动，如：

the Spring Festival 春节 the Lantern Festival 元宵节

the Qingming Festival 清明节 the Dragon Boat Festival 端午节

（2）表示“在”某个节日，at + festival ; on + day

2. They give their mothers presents. 他们给妈妈送礼物。

give sb. sth. = give sth. to sb.意为“送某人某物”

Please give me the pen. = Please give the pen to me.请把这只钢笔给我。

3. double双重的；两倍的

Do you know the Double Ninth Festival? 你知道重阳节吗？

My mother buys a double bed today. 我妈妈今天买了一张双人床。

He can give the workers double pay for working overtime. 他能给工人们双倍加班工资。

Shared joy is a double joy and shared sorrow is half a sorrow.快乐因分享而加倍，悲伤因分担而减半。

5. It’s Mother’s Day today. 今天是母亲节。

Mother’s Day 意为“母亲节”

①在表示“某人的…….”时，由“ 名词+ ’s ”构成;

Children have a lot of fun on Children’s Day. 孩子们在儿童节晚的很开心。

②若名词以s结尾的复数形式时，由“ 名词s +’ ” 构成

Teachers’ Day is on the September 10th. 教师节在九月十号。

6. At this festival, people get together with their families.

在这个节日，人们和他们家人聚在一起。

（1）①people为复数时，意为“人们，人民”；

②是单数时，意为“民族”，则a people : “一个民族”。

（2）①family意为“家人”、 “家庭成员”时，被看成是复数

My family are watching TV. 我的家人在看电视。

②意为“家庭”时，被看成是单数：

My family is large. 我的家庭是个大家庭。

【语音】

本单元学习的是字母组合th的发音。字母组合th在单词中一般发/ θ/音，是清辅音。
