In our daily lives, we are often so shy that we can’t deal with the situation that we are not used to. But what if something unusual or unexpected happens? That’s what I experienced one evening in April 2023 on my way home from work.
As I was riding my bike home in the evening, I saw a big dirty dog with orange and white fur. It looked sad and lost, simply sitting in the middle of the road by a pedestrian crossing (人行横道). It seemed unsure of what to do as it lay down and stared at the passing traffic. Nobody seemed to notice the dog either, only passing him by at a distance.
At first, I also crossed over to the other side, hoping that somebody else would care for the dog. But, realizing that the dog might suddenly get up and walk into traffic, I decided to do something to help the dog.
When the light changed, I saw my chance. I used my bike to guide the dog to a street corner to keep it safe from passing cars. Slowly but surely, I was able to encourage the dog to keep walking until finally, we both got to the street corner. I messaged a dog shelter group to let them know about where the dog is. Yet, by the time I turned to it again, the dog was gone.
Sometimes we don’t know what we will find or see in our daily lives. Still, what matters is how we deal with them. Although I am shy in these situations, I am glad I found the courage to help a dog in need, even if just for a moment.

Luckily, the horses accepted me as a superior form of Yahoo and began to treat me kindly. The first thing they did was to teach me their language. As you know by now, dear reader, I am very good at languages. I soon learnt enough words to communicate quite well and I understood we were in Houyhnhnm Land.
The Houyhnhnms continued to be impressed by my wisdom and my clean and smart appearance. Many other Houyhnhnms came to visit me. All of them felt confused (困惑) because I was similar to the Yahoos. But I did my very best to show how different I was from these disgusting creatures (令人厌恶的生物).
The first grey horse I saw became my master and teacher. Together we had many interesting conversations. I told my master that the greatest ambition for all Yahoos was to have as much money as possible to buy bigger and better things. I also added that it was very difficult to get that much money honestly. As a result, most of the people lived a poor life while a few people had lots of money.
You may think, dear reader, that my description of life in England and Europe was very unfair. But after living with the Houyhnhnms for some time, it became clearer to me how equal their society was. I felt I wanted to live in Houyhnhnm Land for the rest of my life. It was such a pleasant place.
Over time I even began to copy the appearance of the Houyhnhnms and made myself shoes like theirs. I was happy to live with the Houyhnhnms for the rest of my life but unluckily everything changed on one fatal day. The Houyhnhnms didn’t think it was right that I lived like a Houyhnhnm.

Get ready for an out-of-this-world intergalactic (星际的) experience! Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, the United States, announced the opening of the Space 220 Restaurant and the new Star Wars hotel.
Offering a special dining experience, the Space 220 Restaurant will make visitors feel like they’re sitting at a restaurant in space. The experience begins at the Future World. There visitors wait for a space lift to send them to the Space Station. Surprisingly, this Space Station looks like the real one in space. Of course, the lift is not real but a feature of illusion (幻觉) designed by engineers.
When taking the lift, the visitors will see the things on the ground getting smaller and smaller. During the process, the space-station scene comes into your eyes. And then the visitors will move into a space station-themed dining area, where they’ll enjoy their meals surrounded (环绕) by panoramic (全景的) views of Earth. On the video, some astronauts will appear every so often, working on the space station or maybe just playing around.
Actually, before announcing Space 220 Restaurant, Disney announced another intergalactic experience: the new Star Wars hotel. If you stay in the hotel, you can watch movies in its special theater, enjoy its themed environment and delicious food, and play a real-life role-playing game.
